Karuna Integrative Psychiatry
Evidence-based Medication Management rooted in wisdom of compassion.
I believe that true healing happens at the intersection of clinical expertise and genuine human connection. As a Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, my approach to mental healthcare is guided by the principle of Karuna, or compassionate action.
For me, Karuna is more than a professional philosophy; it is a personal lifeline. When I faced my greatest life challenge — I found that clinical knowledge alone wasn't enough. I turned toward the very Buddhist principles I share with my clients today. By applying mind training and compassion to my own suffering, I didn't just survive a difficult transition; I gained a deeper, more authentic understanding of the human capacity for resilience.
I live by these principles daily, and they inform every aspect of my practice. My goal is to provide a space where you feel heard and respected, offering you the same tools of compassion and science that have guided my own path toward balance and well-being.
Specialized Expertise: The Intersection of science of Medication and Buddhist science.
With a deep foundation in Buddhist philosophy, I offer a unique perspective on mental wellness that transcends traditional clinical boundaries. My expertise includes:
Compassionate Inquiry: Using the principle of Karuna to explore the roots of suffering without judgment.
Present-Moment: Teaching the art of being fully awake to one's life, even amidst discomfort.
Mind Training: the intentional practice of shifting from a "threat-based" ego response to a "connection-based" awareness, allowing us to use our greatest challenges as raw material for emotional resilience and growth.
